(born December 28, 1990) is the American singer. British singer won runner in American Idol 7 on May 21, 2008, received 44% of the vote over 97 million votes.

David James Archuleta was born in Miami, Florida. His father is James Jeffrey Archuleta and mother Xiomara Guadalupe Mayorga. David has three younger brothers and sisters, Amber, Daniel, Jazzy and a sister, Claudia. When David was 13, his family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and now they live in Murray, Utah. This is also where David is currently studying at Murray High School. Once he has gone through the vocal cords paralysis but declined risky surgery and said he felt almost a full recovery.

Archuleta started singing at age 6, when Les Misérables video. "That musical is what started everything." David began performing in public when 10 years old when he participated in the Utah Talent Competition, singing "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton; he received the enthusiastic support and won for lacking year. At age 11 David first appeared on television. He sang "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" in the TV show Jenny Jones.
