David Cook (born December 20, 1982) in Houston, Texas but grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri. David stood first class American Idol 7th season.
He loved music as a boy, 12, was given a guitar. When grade 2, David was selected by the school choir and performed a song solo. David received a scholarship from the University of Missouri faculty Musical Theatre but left off and transfer to treat graphic design after 2 semesters. Graduated from college in 2006, David decided to immerse himself in music.
David knows how to play guitar and bass, can make music for themselves. Two letters AC on his guitar stands for the first letter of the second brother Adam Cook and Andrew Cook. David sang and played guitar in the band Axium from 1999 - 2006, David was founded in the early high school with drummer Bob Kerr. Axium had been selected as the best band in Kansas City in 2004.
In 2006, after graduating from college, David left the Axium to Tulsa, Oklahoma joined the Midwest Kings, keeping duties on guitar, bass and vocals. Midwest Kings Ban also recorded an EP in 2006 called "incoherent with Desire to Move on". David also participated in a number of songs of Tulsa clubs, including Blank Slate and Rehab Lounge
David self-recorded and released his own album in 2006, when he just graduated, titled "Analog Heart". The songs on the album was composed during the period from 2004 - 2006, and his own art design. This album is Music Equals Life site selected is the 4th album in 2006, and is sold on Amazon.com under "Today's Top MP3 Albums" in the period from 18/4 - 4/20/2008. Album also won several awards, such as Urban Tulsa Weekly's "Absolute Best of Tulsa" award for "Best Locally Produced, Independent Album" in 2007.
At first, David did not contest the talent search "American Idol" to China as planned. He just went along for moral support his brother Andrew. Mother and brother were persuaded, David decided to audition at the last minute.
American Idol 7th season in 2008 have changed compared to previous years when students are allowed to play instruments when performing live. Taking advantage of this, David brought an electric guitar through the song "All Right Now", "Hello", "Day Tripper", "I'm Alive," "Baba O'Riley" and " Dare You to Move ". David uses guitar barrels in "Little Sparrow" and "All I Really Need Is You"
"Billie Jean", one of the performances of David, have persuaded the judges, especially Simon Cowell, known fastidious judges in 3 people. This performance has reached over 5 million views on YouTube. On 1/4/2008, a few hours after the broadcast, David was taken to hospital for emergency heart problem. Before performing "Little Sparrow" by Dolly Parton, David was feeling unwell but refused medical examinations. Pressure as more severe as Adam's brother David, brain cancer or serious illness. David's health was back to normal, be discharged from hospital the following day.
On 21/05/2008, David Cook won with 56% votes from the audience, than David Archuleta nearly 12 million votes. Then David Cook performed "Time of My Life", the song was chosen as the single (single) his first. David Cook is the 5th winner had not fallen into round 2 and 3 people have at the most votes (bottom 2 and bottom 3) during American Idol participants. David also represented the men's win Tuesday in the history of American Idol. The songs performed on American Idol:
